Pinewood — website concept for a glamping resort

A landing page for a glamping site near Vorokhta in the Carpathian Mountains that lives through one day with the guest — from sunrise above the fog to a hot tub under the stars — and ends with direct booking at an exact price.

Demo UI in Ukrainian — we build in any language.

This is a concept, not a client project. The brand, people and data are fictional; the code is real. It was built for the Ukrainian market, so the demo interface is in Ukrainian. Order a site, and with your permission it becomes our next real case study.

The task

What the site had to do

Glamping sells mood and silence, not a bed — yet most bookings come through Instagram DMs and commission-taking booking platforms. Guests ask “Anything free this weekend?”, “How much for three people and a dog?”, “How do I get there without a car?” — and wait hours for an answer while they find another option.

What the concept had to show:

  • atmosphere above the fold — fog, spruces and warm light should sell the trip before the price list;
  • the difference between cabins — the dome, the A-frame and the cabin with a hot tub suit different guests, and that should be clear in a minute: capacity, size, floor plan, weekday and weekend rates;
  • direct booking without a manager — availability by date, weekend minimum stays, surcharges and discounts calculated instantly, not in a chat;
  • filling weekdays and the off-season — activities for every season and discounts for longer stays;
  • answers to common questions — the road, house rules, pets, power during outages.

The goal: turn a visitor from an ad or a search like “glamping Carpathians” into a request with dates and a deposit, with no platform commission.

The solution

Design and UX decisions

The idea — one day at Pinewood. The page lives through a full day: each section is an hour, from 5:50 am at sunrise to 11:50 pm under the stars. The header menu is labeled with times, a clock and a day scale on the side change the color of the sun, and section backgrounds shift from dawn fog to golden hour and a night sky. Sections are separated by procedurally generated SVG ridgelines with spruces.

The hero: a photo of the valley in fog with four layers of SVG ridges and mist moving at different speeds on scroll and with the cursor. A large Cormorant serif headline, “Wake up above the fog”, and two CTAs: dates and cabins.

Cabins: three alternating blocks with galleries (swipe, keyboard, lightbox), specs and weekday/weekend prices. Each type has an architectural plan with area and furniture layout — easier for guests to choose, fewer questions in DMs for the owner. In the concept, the A-frame and the cabin use custom vector illustrations; a real project would add photos of the property.

Booking that does the math:

  • a two-month calendar with availability by cabin type: available, last cabin, booked, with the nightly price under each day;
  • date-range selection, a two-night minimum for Friday or Saturday check-ins, and a check for booked nights inside the range;
  • weekday/weekend rates, extra-guest fees, kids under 5 free, discounts for 4+ and 7+ nights, hot tub, dog and transfer;
  • a summary with a 30% deposit, a validated form and a confirmation screen.

The rest of the day: breakfasts in tabs with add-on prices; seasonal activities with trail elevation profiles above a vector valley whose palette, snow, crocuses or autumn leaves change with the tab; a stylized map with an animated route by car, train or bus and copyable coordinates; house rules and an FAQ — including power and internet during outages.

Honesty: no invented reviews, ratings or “thousands of guests” — only the specifics that persuade: altitude, distance to Vorokhta, cabin sizes, prices and cancellation terms.
